Lonestar utilizes an array of advanced instruments like Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers with Graphite Furnace, Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer (ICP) and ICP-MS, Gas Chromatographs with various detectors (FID, PID, Dual-ECD). Numerous gas chromatograph and several GC Mass spectrometers are utilized at Lonestar on a daily basis. In addition, Lonestar also utilizes Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FT-IR) for various determinations. Chemical Composition of Metals & Alloys
Analysis of carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex steel, nickel based alloys and other alloys – these Metals and Alloys are analyzed at Lonestar using an Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES). Carbon and Sulfur are analyzed using the ELTRA/LECO. Low levels of alloying elements in steel are analyzed either on the AAS/ICP/ICP-MS.
